Importing data files (e.g. MALDI-ToF MS or LC-MS samples) into the Spectrolyzer is the first step that has to be done before an actual data analysis can begin. The Spectrolyzer has its own database and only data files imported into the software can be analyzed.
In this Tutorial we show all steps of data import, including: running data import wizard, selecting files to be imported and viewing imported spectra. It is only assumed that the Spectrolyzer software has already been installed and a valid license key has been entered.
For sake of simplicity, we use publicly available SELDI-ToF MS ovarian cancer data available on DA-NCI Clinical Proteomics Program Website. If you want to know more about other data types that can be imported into the Spectrolyzer please see Supported Data Formats.
In the next Tutorials we will show how to use Spectrolyzer tools to transform imported raw MS data into useful information.
